Jamaican born Gardia Williams is a high achieving student who seems to excel at everything. The latest addition to her long list of accomplishments is a coveted scholarship to continue her studies in the United States. It's an opportunity that the astute twenty-two-year-old relishes despite having to move away from her friends and family and beloved island. Unfortunately, Gardia's elation turns into despair when the shady couple that's hosting her gets her expelled from the prestigious university that she's attending and her student visa is subsequently revoked. Desperate to salvage her once in a lifetime opportunity, Gardia pays Troy Bonner, a self-starting recent college graduate who's struggling to find his feet, to marry her to get her papers.
