Emotional Truths is a novel based on the life of a young black male by the name of Donnelle Floyd. Only after 6 months of being released from prison where he served 7 years Floyd finds his self back incarcerated. While confined, Floyd is in a desperate attempt to avoid solitary confinement after brutally assaulting 2 inmates. Shortly after the assault Floyd races to the pay phone as his alibi for future questioning and accidently dials the wrong number. The dialing of the wrong number reaches the residence of Nancy Bradshaw who is at the peak of her distress. Hurt from witnessing her husband of nine years having an affair, Nancy contemplates suicide. Emotional Truths is a love story of a young man and woman from separate worlds. It displays how love changes a violent gang member into being a great father, faithful husband and productive citizen in society. It exposes how a scorn woman's vulnerability becomes a desperate need to seek love as temporary satisfaction.
