CHANGE: BLACK AMERICA'S RELIGION is the most important book written for and about Black Americans in the 21st century. It provides guidance on constructing a tailor-made religion for Black America. After an Introduction, which provides an excellent context for the remaining four chapters, the author explains: (1) Why Black Americans should assemble their own religion; (2) the good, bad, and ugly aspects of the Black Christian Church; (3) the key general and individual requirements for a Black American religion; and (4) the importance of adopting an appropriate paradigm for change. This ground-breaking book presses forward an agenda for nation formation by highlighting the integral role that religion plays in creating a cultural context for a people to use to produce a unified and prosperous nation. The author proves that the Black Christian Church, as currently configured, is detrimental to Black America's development and predicts that the church is in for a decline unless it is restructured to meet Black America's requirements. This book is the third in a trilogy that also features CHOICE: BLACK AMERICA'S DECISION (2009) and CHOSEN: BLACK AMERICA'S CALLING (2009). All three texts are designed to move Black America toward nation formation. While nation formation may appear to be a non-existent alternative at this time, conditions are expected to unfold that force Black Americans to initiate nation formation efforts. Given the special role that Black Americans have been partially prepared to play on the world's stage during this millennium, Black Americans must form their own new nation so that they can complete the preparatory process. A Black American religion enhances the prospects that such a chain of events will evolve successfully.
