Theme six presented the dissatisfaction with the skin color of the African American, that though beautiful, this beauty was locked up in the mind-set prison of the white skin is better. The sad experience of Gene, a typical dilemma of vulnerable girls in their teen was related. Abused, used, raped and dumped by their pimps without a future and a means to live on.
